Organized every two years by the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI), the Cineposium brings together representatives of film commissions, producers, studios, and key players in the global audiovisual industry. Unlike the AFCI Week, this traveling event highlights the host city or region while offering a unique platform for reflection and collaboration on major industry issues.

The 2025 edition took place in Cincinnati (Ohio, USA), following a previous meeting in Bogotá, illustrating Cineposium’s mission to foster dialogue among regions across the world. These gatherings address key topics such as the sustainability of film production, cultural diversity, evolving incentive policies, and the economic and social impact of audiovisual activities on different regions.

Beyond showcasing diverse territories, the Cineposium embodies a collective reflection on the role of film commissions: supporting creators, promoting international exchange, and anticipating the transformations of the global film landscape. In this context, the Valais Film Commission took part in a panel entitled “How Embracing Uniqueness Leads to Regional Wins”, alongside other international representatives. This discussion highlighted how the identity and uniqueness of a region can become powerful assets for attracting audiovisual productions, emphasizing the richness of local approaches within a globalized context.

The VFC’s participation in this event reflects a commitment to openness and dialogue—essential for strengthening cooperation between countries and contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive vision of the film industry.
